Safety measures

Whether you’re opting for water jetpacks or fly boards, the safety measures you have to take are basically the same things. Of course, you need to be very careful and try to listen to your trainers but here are a few things you can do yourself to ensure you don’t put yourself in harm’s way:

Tip #1: A little swimming never hurt anybody!

It’s important that you have at least the basic knowledge of swimming. That not only takes care of your fear of water but it also helps you if you ever face a situation where you fall in deep. If you’re going with kids then the need for swimming grows even more and you need to make sure your kids are good swimmers. Teaching kids swimming at an early age means they get to learn faster and also get to combat their chances of drowning. Remember, you don’t need extensive knowledge of swimming, you can simply work with basic moves. The more you participate with water sports, the more you’ll be able to fight any problems which may arise.

Tip #2: It’s not supposed to be about beauty!

When people opt for water jetpacks, they try to avoid any safety measures which would have a negative impact of the picture. One major factor concerning this is lifejackets which often tends to make you look fat or bloated in pictures. Mind you, avoiding life jackets could be quite fatal because if you don’t know how to swim then no life jacket will definitely drown you, if you were to fall into the water. Even if you are a swimmer, you have the tendency of drowning without a floatation device. Remember, a good picture isn’t worth your life!

Tip #3: One supply is never enough

When you go for water jetpacks then you should be fully prepared which means, no matter what you’re carrying, make sure you keep your extras with you. Usually the trip itself is quite long and it would be quite troublesome if some of your equipment fails to work right then. Instead of going all the way back, its best that you keep spare equipment with you so that if you ever face any emergency, you have extra items to help you. This is especially important in case of first aid kids.

Tip #4: Weather forecasts are your best friends!

Before you go ahead for water jetpack, it’s important that you keep track of the weather. If it suddenly takes a turn for the worst, you’ll end up finding yourself in quite the trouble. Even slightly heavy winds can push you in a lot of danger. If you feel like the weather is on the verge of going bad, cancel the trip or postpone it to some other day!

Tip #5: Water, water everywhere but not a drop to drink

Going on any sort of trip could result in severe dehydration. This is especially true if you are going on a trip involving the waters so it’s important that you have clean, pure water with you at all times. Also, when you’re on the boat, avoid drinking alcoholic beverages. These drinks are known to not only result in accidents but also dehydrate you even further.  This is dangerous when you’re going for a water sport such as water jetpacks. the sport may seem easy, but it takes a toll on your body, leading to dehydration. That’s why it’s important for you to keep up with your hydration.

Apart from these you should also make it a habit to keep your friends updated about your whereabouts. It will help them track you down in case you come across any emergencies.

Before you start

Once you’ve taken care of these tips, make sure you are well trained with water jetpack. The training session is quite important and very long so try not to miss out on it. Once you’re well trained, your trainers will take you out for the real thing so just try to keep an open mind and accept their help qat all times.
